And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the pleasure of providing music for the Penn State Army ROTC Dining Out 2019. Current cadets escorted their parents, family and significant others to this year’s event at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Bryce Jordan Center staff had the main floor splashed with blue uplighting highlighting the dining and dance areas. Bryce Jordan Center Catering provided the scrumptious dinner for the event. After the retiring of the colors and final remarks, guests had the opportunity to take some fun photos with Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths. Guests were also encouraged to have fun dancing to familiar tunes.

Many people could be seen dancing to old and new dance tunes. Family members along with cadets cut a rug on the Bryce Jordan Center’s floor. Guests visiting Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths could be seen dancing to familiar songs while waiting for their turn behind the BIG camera. Karaoke was also available for guests at the Army ROTC Dining Out 2019.

Military training has been a tradition since the inception of Penn State. In the early years, training was provided by civilians familiar with military protocol. Later, a full-time professor of Military Science was added to the roster at Penn State. Penn State provided military training for many men that fought in World War I and World War II. In 1916, an ROTC unit was established at Penn State. Throughout the years, training has changed from the initial drills to instruction in all branches of the military to general military science training. Today, Penn State has one of the top ROTC programs in the country. The Nittany Lion Battalion today includes four companies. Three are known on the main campus, and the fourth is part of the Altoona campus.

Thank you Penn State Army ROTC for choosing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your 2019 Dining Out!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the pleasure of providing the musical entertainment for Penn State’s Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) as they celebrated their Winter Gala at the Nittany Lion Inn! This was the fourth consecutive year And We Danced DJ Entertainment has been part of this fabulous event. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was also busy that night as guests posed for pictures with their significant other and with friends.

The Nittany Lion Inn Alumni Ballroom was infused with blue uplighting inviting guests to mingle, talk, eat and enjoy the talent of And We Danced DJ Entertainment. The Nittany Lion Inn prepared a delicious buffet of food for the guests which was sampled many times. Guests then began to prepare for the opening of the dance floor. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had everyone up and moving with Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”  Dance lights were flashing and guests were getting down! The floor was packed with dancing bodies the entire night be it a fast grinding beat or a slow song inviting significant others to sway across the dance floor. No one wanted to go home at the end of the night! And We Danced DJ Entertainment played one more request before sending the guests into the night. Old and new faces said good-bye to And We Danced DJ Entertainment and to this year’s Winter Gala. Many can’t wait till next year’s event!

The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) is a student run Penn State University organization promoting graduate and professional students interests. The GPSA is the oldest existing student governing organization at Penn State. The organization is comprised of the Executive, the Assembly and the Judiciary. The member positions in the Executive and Assembly are changed each April with an election and graduate and professional student vote. The Judiciary body is comprised of three members appointed by the President and approved by the Assembly.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment can’t wait to party with the Graduate & Professional Student Association at their next Winter Gala!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had an awesome time with the Middle Atlantic College Stores (MACS) organization at their 48th annual meeting and buying show that was held at the Nittany Lion Inn. The Middle Atlantic College Stores (MACS) is an organization that provides learning, teaching and networking for all its members in a supportive and collaborative environment. MACS tailgated and played some marvelous games, put together a spectacular fashion show of featuring new vendor lines for the coming season to see in college stores, and installed their new board with And We Danced DJ Entertainment. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was also tailgating with the MACS attendees. No one was shy behind the BIG camera that night.

The MACS attendees might not having been playing football in the ballroom, but they were playing some interesting team sports with And We Danced DJ Entertainment. It was hilarious watching teams grab a straw and suck up a marshmallow before heading back to the next player. The first team to get one marshmallow for each player won the game. Attendees were also seen passing a balloon without touching it with their hands, sculpting interesting marshmallow designs, and playing a twisted form of musical chairs. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a great time with all the participants tailgating in the ballroom that night.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment played sports songs and emceed the 2018 Fashion Show Luncheon. A group of male and female Penn State students were the models for the big event. They did a fantastic job modeling the new vendor clothing apparel lines alongside a variety of sunglasses, towels, and drink holders sporting the various Middle Atlantic colleges logos that are part of the MACS organization.

Later that night, And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided background and dance music for the installation of the new MACS board officers. Many attendees were singing in their seats or dancing with coworkers. Many dazzled the crowd with their dancing abilities.

Thank you MACS for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be part of your 48th annual meeting!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the pleasure of providing the awesome music for Emma’s Sweet 16 party at Hollidaysburg’s U.S. Hotel Tavern. Emma wore a beautiful navy blue lace dress with silver stilettos. Her theme for the night was a masquerade. Guests arrived with sensational masks for the occasion. The U.S. Hotel Tavern had a never ending buffet of fresh cut vegetables, wings, dip and pizza for the party guests. Emma thanked the guests with a decorated bag of milk chocolate nonpareils made by Mid’s Candy of Ebensburg.

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was very busy with guests dancing to the music while posing for pictures with the fantastic props. Emma’s parents were the first people to step behind the BIG camera and strike some poses. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had guests dancing to some old and new tunes. Friends and family gathered to joyously sing “Happy Birthday” to the new sixteen year old. Guests created a conga line during Pitbull’s “Fireball.” It was an impressive sight to see as guests moved around the room.

Sweet 16 parties are linked back to debutante balls found throughout the ages. This was a time where a young woman was presented to society to find a husband. Today, a young girl celebrates the next step in her life, young adulthood. A sixteen year old is able to obtain a driver’s license. They are allowed to work 40 hours per school week and 48 hours per non-school week. A young adult is growing up, but don’t forget the cake! Take the time to blow out the candles and make a wish. Maybe your wish will come true as it did for Samantha in the eighties movie Sixteen Candles.

Thank you Emma for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to provide the awesome tunes for your Sweet 16 celebration!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a fabulous time celebrating the marriage of Michelle Jenkins and Mikel Umberger at The 903 in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Michelle’s favorite color is hot pink, and Mikel’s most-liked color is navy blue. They combined the two colors for their wedding theme and created a gorgeous atmosphere for all attendees.

Michelle wore hot pink shoes with her breathtaking white beaded lace wedding gown. She took her favorite color to heart and had a special hot pink petticoat made for under her bridal gown, and Michelle also wore a two inch hot pink ribbon around her waist to accent her gown. Mikel wore a navy blue suit for the day. The bride’s mother wore a light pink gown with hot pink slippers, while the groom’s mother sported a navy blue gown. Pastor Lee Hyman was the officiant for the ceremony.

The 903 ballroom was enhanced with blue and hot pink uplighting furnished by And We Danced DJ Entertainment. C&J Catering of the 903 presented a stunning array of hors d’oeuvre, a bountiful buffet and desserts for all to partake and enjoy during the wedding festivities. Shawn Green of FairyTale Reflections Photography was the photographer for the day. Kyrsten’s Sweet Designs provided an enticing three-layered white carrot cake for the event. She also supplied a marvelous groom’s cake in the shape of the Eagles Teal jersey, the groom’s favorite football team.

Bridget Jensen of About Faces Caricatures was a busy bee drawing hilarious cartoon pictures of the bride, groom and guests. And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the uplighting, music, dance floor lighting and emceeing for the night. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was on hand taking candid shots of the bride, groom and guests as they mugged for the camera with boas, hats, glasses, and various handheld props. Guests were having such a lively time behind Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths’ BIG camera that night!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment was proud to provide the right songs and music for Jen Berkebile and Erik Schmalz’s spectacular wedding reception. Jen did not have a particular theme for the day, but she knew that poppies and ranunculus had to be the flowers of the day. She then chose colors that would work well with her choice of flowers. Jen wore a beautiful taupe dress, and her bridesmaids wore poppy colored dresses. The groom and groomsmen sported blue suits with poppy colored ties.

Jennifer Berkebile and Erik Schmalz met while in college at Duquesne University. They moved to the State College area to continue their education. Erik proposed to Jen in May, 2016. On June 2, 2018, Joe Jividen, friend and officiant, performed the wedding ceremony at the Rhoneymeade Arboretum and Sculpture Garden. Later, the party adjourned to the General Potter Farm to continue the celebration. And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the music that had people dancing, singing and partying the night away. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was busy capturing the awesome fun and poses the guests were displaying that night.

Jen, Erik, family and friends were either on the dance floor or mugging for a picture behind the photo booth.  Full Circle Farms was the fantastic flower artists of the day for both the ceremony and reception. Instead of cake, the couple chose apple, cherry, blueberry, shoofly, chocolate shoofly, rhubard and strawberry rhubard pies as the dessert of the night. They were made by Dutch Valley Bakery. That Kitchen Witch was the caterer for the reception. Ellen and her staff were also busy bees keeping the bountiful buffet line moving and enjoyable.

Thank you Jen and Erik for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your wedding celebration! It was very clear that day that Jen Berkebile and Erik Schmalz were meant to be!!!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had an amazing time at the State College Days Inn on April 13th with Penn State’s Association of Women in Computing (AWC), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), as they held their 2018 Semi-Formal with the theme, Under the Sea!  The professional groups decorated the room with inflatable sea creatures and mermaids. Balloon decorations were placed at each doorway symbolizing bubbles under the water. A bubble machine was churning a never ending supply of bubbles as the guests danced. And We Danced projected a stunning light show onto the dance floor.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided upbeat dinner music to enhance the dinner hour. A little after eight o’clock, the students were ready to have fun. Lights were turned down, and the students began getting up and moving to the music. While some guests left the dance floor to get some fun pictures with their friends and significant others at the photo booth provided by Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths, many began to sway and get down to the throbbing dance music. By the third song, the dance floor was packed with guests partying. Lights were flashing while bubbles were brewing as guests performed the Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide. The guests were having such a great time!

Penn State University has various professional engineering societies geared towards various engineering backgrounds. Each society meets on Penn State’s campus and can be found online with meeting times and locations. If you have interest in any of these groups, please look them up online!

When And We Danced DJ Entertainment announced that the semi-formal would be ending, the guests thanked us and said good-bye.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment can’t wait to party with these fine folks in 2019!

A couple met in line while waiting for their local Best Buy to open its doors on Black Friday. They got married the following year there!  Another couple met while working at Sam’s Club and decided to have their big day at Sam’s Club followed by a reception in their snack bar area. This might seem like a joke, but brides and grooms are choosing to host their wedding and reception at very nontraditional venues. And We Danced DJ Entertainment has had the opportunity to serve couples in many nontraditional settings, but we haven’t yet had the opportunity to provide sound, music, and lights at the local grocery store or tire service.

Many couples are deciding to ditch a normal setting for something that means more to the couple. Did you meet at a rock concert? Rent the venue for your wedding and reception. Meet at camp? Rent the camp for your big day. Many of these venues realize that a wedding is an important milestone in the life of a couple, and the couple will have a significant moment and memory in the nontraditional venue of their choice.  Nontraditional venues are excited to work with couples to help make their day special.

Besides music and sound, why not add a special photo booth to the mix while marrying at your local food store!  All would enjoy a great gift of a picture with the bride and groom in the nontraditional setting. It would be an event that will not be forgotten and dearly remembered in years to come.

So, if you met at the local pizza shop and spent time going to the eatery together with touching moments together at the shop, why not rent the place and hold your wedding inside!  Pizza loving guests will sign your guest book while grabbing a slice of pizza and toasting your big day.  Call, text or email today with your wedding date and nontraditional venue, and And We Danced DJ Entertainment will gladly enhance your special day!
