And We Danced DJ Entertainment had an awesome time with the Middle Atlantic College Stores (MACS) organization at their 48th annual meeting and buying show that was held at the Nittany Lion Inn. The Middle Atlantic College Stores (MACS) is an organization that provides learning, teaching and networking for all its members in a supportive and collaborative environment. MACS tailgated and played some marvelous games, put together a spectacular fashion show of featuring new vendor lines for the coming season to see in college stores, and installed their new board with And We Danced DJ Entertainment. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was also tailgating with the MACS attendees. No one was shy behind the BIG camera that night.

The MACS attendees might not having been playing football in the ballroom, but they were playing some interesting team sports with And We Danced DJ Entertainment. It was hilarious watching teams grab a straw and suck up a marshmallow before heading back to the next player. The first team to get one marshmallow for each player won the game. Attendees were also seen passing a balloon without touching it with their hands, sculpting interesting marshmallow designs, and playing a twisted form of musical chairs. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a great time with all the participants tailgating in the ballroom that night.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment played sports songs and emceed the 2018 Fashion Show Luncheon. A group of male and female Penn State students were the models for the big event. They did a fantastic job modeling the new vendor clothing apparel lines alongside a variety of sunglasses, towels, and drink holders sporting the various Middle Atlantic colleges logos that are part of the MACS organization.

Later that night, And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided background and dance music for the installation of the new MACS board officers. Many attendees were singing in their seats or dancing with coworkers. Many dazzled the crowd with their dancing abilities.

Thank you MACS for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be part of your 48th annual meeting!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a fantastic time celebrating the marriage of Ashley Thomas and Brandon Taylor recently in Cassville, Pennsylvania. Brandon and Ashley tied the knot on the Thomas’ family farm. Dave Thomas was the officiant for the wedding ceremony.

The rain soaked soggy ground did not take away from the love and joy of the event. Family came from far and wide to celebrate the grand occasion. Brandon and other family members laid hay down to stop the sogginess of the grass interfering with the reception festivities. The hay was a lovely touch and created a floating atmosphere for dancing that night.

The bride and groom had a marvelous two-layer cake to cut and feed to each other. Brandon and Ashley were naughty and nice for the event. They feed each other a sliver of cake, and then Brandon added a touch of icing to Ashley’s face as the naughty part. Guests were given a choice of white, chocolate, lemon, apple spice or peanut butter cupcakes.

The newlyweds had a homestyle buffet for guests to enjoy. Beef, chicken, and pulled pork were the choice meats with chicken nuggets added for the youngsters. And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the ceremony sound, reception music, lights and emceeing for the day’s events.

The new Mr. & Mrs. Brandon Taylor began the reception festivities dancing to Scotty McCreery’s This Is It. Ashley could always be seen dancing with her son Mason or family members that night. There was a little rivalry occurring later in the evening between relatives when one donned an Ohio State sweatshirt and another wore a Penn State sweatshirt while awaiting highlights of the Penn State-Ohio State football game.

Thank you Brandon and Ashley for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your marriage ceremony and reception. Good luck in your new life as husband and wife!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the wonderful musical entertainment for the marriage and reception of Melanie Drake and Brandon Curtis at the McCann School of Art Fern Hill complex recently. Melanie wore a beautiful sleeveless, off-white bridal grown, and Brandon sported a light gray suit. The bridesmaid wore various shades of blue, teal, and green similar to the colors of sea glass. Melanie even made sea glass earrings for her bridesmaids to wear for the special day. According to Melanie’s grandmother, Melanie’s hobby is collecting sea glass. Brandon’s groomsmen wore light gray suits with pale blue vests.

Woodring’s Floral Gardens provided the beautiful pink and coral flower bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages for the day. Melanie and Brandon chose Dolce Vita Desserts’ chocolate cake with a hint of coffee as their wedding cake flavor along with lemon flavored white cupcakes. The frosting on the wedding cake depicted a stunning forest scene with coniferous trees and mountains. Paul’s Provisions furnished the luscious food for the event. Kimberly Wright of Kimberly Wright Photography was capturing those special moments between Melanie, Brandon, family and friends throughout the day and night.

Tyler Kleinle of TK Videography & Photography was constantly on the move securing the memorable moments of the day along with special wishes for Brandon and Melanie from friends and family members. And We Danced DJ Entertainment furnished the ceremony sound, lights, emceeing and music for the big event. The bride and groom along with their guests were consistently dancing to old and new music throughout the night. Guests were not afraid to show off their dance moves. Even Brandon and Melanie showed off their dance moves!

Thank you Brandon and Melanie for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your marriage ceremony and reception. Good luck in your new life as husband and wife!

The fast-paced summer tour continued for And We Danced DJ Entertainment at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center with the marriage of Dwayne Smith and Beth Stover on Saturday, June 16, 2018.  Beth wore a stunning taupe colored lace dress accented with sequins.  Her matron of honor wore a similar lace dress accented with sequins in a dark tan color.  Dwayne wore a dapper gray suit while his best man sported a navy blue suit for the occasion.

Beth and Dwayne chose orange and purple as the color theme for the day.  Balloons decorated the walls and tables, and a gold balloon “congrats” sign appeared on the wall behind the bridal party table.  The bouquets, boutonnières, and table arrangements were designed by the neighbor of the groom and featured a remarkable blending of white to orange flowers.

The newlyweds started the night dancing to “We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters.  They had both graduated in the early seventies and wanted the music for the night to feature sixties and seventies music melodies.  And We Danced led the festivities for the bouquet and garter toss.  No ladies or men wanted to admit that they were single.  Dwayne and Beth helped And We Danced target the single ladies and men in the attendance.  A young woman caught the bouquet.  The photographer, a relative of the groom, caught the garter.  When it came time to place the garter on the young woman, we found out that the young woman was the photographer’s daughter.  Instead of placing the garter on the leg, the garter was placed on the young woman’s arm!!

The night was spectacular and featured tons of fun!  And We Danced played a memorable song for Dwayne’s oldest living relative that was in attendance that night.  He appeared on the dance floor dancing with his relative.  Many guests captured pictures and video of the event.

Thank you Dwayne and Beth for inviting And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be the entertainment and emcees for your wedding reception!!!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment was proud to provide the right songs and music for Jen Berkebile and Erik Schmalz’s spectacular wedding reception. Jen did not have a particular theme for the day, but she knew that poppies and ranunculus had to be the flowers of the day. She then chose colors that would work well with her choice of flowers. Jen wore a beautiful taupe dress, and her bridesmaids wore poppy colored dresses. The groom and groomsmen sported blue suits with poppy colored ties.

Jennifer Berkebile and Erik Schmalz met while in college at Duquesne University. They moved to the State College area to continue their education. Erik proposed to Jen in May, 2016. On June 2, 2018, Joe Jividen, friend and officiant, performed the wedding ceremony at the Rhoneymeade Arboretum and Sculpture Garden. Later, the party adjourned to the General Potter Farm to continue the celebration. And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the music that had people dancing, singing and partying the night away. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was busy capturing the awesome fun and poses the guests were displaying that night.

Jen, Erik, family and friends were either on the dance floor or mugging for a picture behind the photo booth.  Full Circle Farms was the fantastic flower artists of the day for both the ceremony and reception. Instead of cake, the couple chose apple, cherry, blueberry, shoofly, chocolate shoofly, rhubard and strawberry rhubard pies as the dessert of the night. They were made by Dutch Valley Bakery. That Kitchen Witch was the caterer for the reception. Ellen and her staff were also busy bees keeping the bountiful buffet line moving and enjoyable.

Thank you Jen and Erik for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your wedding celebration! It was very clear that day that Jen Berkebile and Erik Schmalz were meant to be!!!

The 2018 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games is now a fond memory to the athletes, families, coaches, planners, vendors and volunteers.  And We Danced DJ Entertainment had an awesome time providing music for all of the wonderful people traveling through the Olympic Village at the Summer Games on the Penn State University Park campus May 31st, June 1st and June 2nd.  Not only were the Special Olympians dancing on the sidewalks, but coaches and family members were getting into the groove.  The Pennsylvania Special Olympics committee needs to set up a dance competition in next year’s Olympic games for the many athletes busting a move traveling to and from their event or relaxing at the Olympic Village!!

The BB&T Nookie Monster, Ike the Spike and Eat ‘n Park’s Smiley mascot were on hand dancing, shaking hands and posing for pictures with all travelers through the Olympic Village.  Many super heroes stopped by to say hello and pose for pictures with the Olympians, their coaches and family members while traveling to their next assignment.  Eat ‘n Park had smiley cookies available for all to eat and enjoy.

This is the 49th year for the Pennsylvania Special Olympics.  Over 2,000 athletes compete in the PA Special Olympics each year.  Athletes compete in three full days of aquatic, athletic, basketball, bowling, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, softball and tennis competitions.  Competitors must be at least 8 years old to compete and have one of the following conditions: intellectual disabilities, formal assessment measured cognitive delays, significant learning disabilities, or vocational problems associated with cognitive delays requiring specially designed instructions.  Local representatives can provide more details on how to become involved and participate in various Special Olympic events.

This is the second year that And We Danced DJ Entertainment had an opportunity to provide great music for all the Olympians and their families, and we look forward to again making the Olympic village lively and festive as the Special Olympics celebrates its golden anniversary next year!  Thank you Special Olympians for dancing, talking and showing us your medals of achievement!!

See you again next year!!!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a fantastic night providing music for the Penns Valley High School 2018 Jr./Sr. Prom at the Mountain View Country Club on May 19th 2018.  Family members were waiting in the Mountain View Country Club’s parking lot to view the prom arrivals.  The doors opened at 6 o’clock, and guests quickly entered the ballroom.  The theme for the 2018 Prom was a masquerade.  From this point on, guests were either dancing in their seats or on the dance floor.

The Prom committee spent the morning and part of the afternoon decorating the ballroom with balloons, table arrangements, lights, a HUGE candy bar and various other decorations.  The Mountain View Country Club had a wonderful buffet meal ready for the guests with chocolate cake, red velvet cake or cheesecake for dessert.  Each table held small jars for guests to fill with delicious candy such as Swedish fish, M&Ms and Hershey Kisses.  The guests also had to vote for the 2018 Prom King and Queen.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment asked the crowd if they had their party shoes ready for the night.  Many guests quickly showed us their sneakers and screamed they were ready to have some fun.  The dance floor opened at 7:30 pm.  From this point on, the guests quickly began to leave their seats and head to the dance floor.  The floor remained packed with guests dancing for the remainder of the night.  The guests also formed two party train lines during the night.  Two young men were lifted and surfed the crowd.  Who knew the nineties song “Shoop” by Salt-N-Pepa would have one young man dancing his heart out.  The “Cupid Shuffle” and “Cha Cha Slide” also showed the great fun and dancing abilities of the guests.

At 9pm, And We Danced announced the 2018 Penns Valley High School Prom King and Queen.  The 2018 Prom King was Carl Mundt, and the 2018 Prom Queen was Dayna Brown.  They danced to Taylor Swift’s “Today was a Fairytale.”  Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” ended the wonderful night for the guests.  They gave the Prom committee and chaperones a big rousing applause before we all said goodnight.

Thank you Penns Valley High School for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be part of your 2018 Prom!

We hope to see you next year!!!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a memorable evening celebrating the marriage of Stephanie Winkler and Zach Shinall at the Atherton Hotel in State College on May 18, 2018. Stephanie wore a beautiful white gown from Formalities, and Zach was dressed in a marvelous black tuxedo with a white vest and tie. The bride’s theme colors were blue and silver. The bridesmaids wore royal blue gowns, while the men wore black tuxes with royal blue vests and ties.

Both Zach and Stephanie are sci-fi enthusiasts, and it showed in their table layout at the Atherton. Tables didn’t have numbers, but names such as Hogwarts, U.S.S. Enterprise and Serenity. Jessica Jacoby, Atherton Hotel Wedding Planner and Sales Manager, and her staff did an outstanding job throughout the night keeping everyone happy. Delectable Delights supplied a beautiful two-layer cake alongside chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. The chocolate cupcakes were filled with a mouthwatering chocolate filling, and the vanilla were filled with lemon or raspberry.  Woodring’s Floral Gardens created beautiful boutonnieres and bouquets for the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen and guests. Daniel James Photography was quick to snap memorable moments throughout the night.

Zach and Stephanie met while in college. Both tried out for the debate team, and slowly realized they really cared for each other. They went off to further their education but remained committed in their long distance relationship. Today they are happy newlyweds.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a marvelous time entertaining the brand new Shinall’s. Stephanie is quite the dancer and could be found quite frequently on the dance floor. Old and young alike took to the floor for fast and slow dancing. For the last dance of the night, everyone was on the dance floor celebrating and serenading the happy couple.

Thank you Zach and Stephanie for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your big day!
