And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the opportunity to provide music for the recent 2018 Fit For Fritz fundraiser, where a walk-a-thon, dodgeball tournament, and fun games were held at the Penn State multi-sport facility. The fundraising event is in honor of Fritz Spence, assistant track and field coach at Penn State, who was diagnosed twice with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) but has twice battled the disease and is today in remission. Each year, the Penn State Track & Field athletes raise money in honor of Fritz Spence and donate the proceeds to Hope Lodge.

Hope Lodge is a facility funded by the American Cancer Society for cancer patients and their families throughout the United States. It provides a cost-free-living environment for cancer patients and their families in their time of need. The money raised each year during the Fit For Fritz event is donated to the Hope Lodge located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This is the facility Fritz and his family spent a great deal of time at while receiving his treatments.

The event started with the singing of the national anthem by Elyse Skerpon, a junior on Penn State’s Track and Field roster. Fritz then began the walk-a-thon with the firing of the gun. The gun didn’t want to fire, but Fritz finally got it working! The participants did eight laps around Penn State’s indoor track field located in the multi-sport facility. Once the eight laps were completed, groups began to play cornhole, shoot some baskets, sign up for the dodgeball tournament, and play some fun games. The dodgeball tournament was a big hit with participants. Many groups signed up to play in the event. The tournament didn’t conclude until the final 15 minutes of the event.  Coach Spence even made a guest appearance behind the DJ booth!

Everyone present at the event had the opportunity to register and be a bone marrow match for someone in need. There were also theme baskets. A person could purchase a ticket and place the ticket in the ticket carrier located in front of the theme basket they personally wanted to win. Winners were announced at the end of the event.

Thank you Fritz and Penn State’s Track & Field athletes for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your fundraising activity.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment is looking forward to next year’s Fit For Fritz fundraising event!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the pleasure of providing the awesome music for Emma’s Sweet 16 party at Hollidaysburg’s U.S. Hotel Tavern. Emma wore a beautiful navy blue lace dress with silver stilettos. Her theme for the night was a masquerade. Guests arrived with sensational masks for the occasion. The U.S. Hotel Tavern had a never ending buffet of fresh cut vegetables, wings, dip and pizza for the party guests. Emma thanked the guests with a decorated bag of milk chocolate nonpareils made by Mid’s Candy of Ebensburg.

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was very busy with guests dancing to the music while posing for pictures with the fantastic props. Emma’s parents were the first people to step behind the BIG camera and strike some poses. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had guests dancing to some old and new tunes. Friends and family gathered to joyously sing “Happy Birthday” to the new sixteen year old. Guests created a conga line during Pitbull’s “Fireball.” It was an impressive sight to see as guests moved around the room.

Sweet 16 parties are linked back to debutante balls found throughout the ages. This was a time where a young woman was presented to society to find a husband. Today, a young girl celebrates the next step in her life, young adulthood. A sixteen year old is able to obtain a driver’s license. They are allowed to work 40 hours per school week and 48 hours per non-school week. A young adult is growing up, but don’t forget the cake! Take the time to blow out the candles and make a wish. Maybe your wish will come true as it did for Samantha in the eighties movie Sixteen Candles.

Thank you Emma for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to provide the awesome tunes for your Sweet 16 celebration!

Michelle’s favorite color is hot pink, and Mikel’s most-liked color is navy blue. They combined the two colors for their wedding theme and created a gorgeous atmosphere for all attendees.

Michelle wore hot pink shoes with her breathtaking white beaded lace wedding gown. She took her favorite color to heart and had a special hot pink petticoat made for under her bridal gown, and Michelle also wore a two inch hot pink ribbon around her waist to accent her gown. Mikel wore a navy blue suit for the day. The bride’s mother wore a light pink gown with hot pink slippers, while the groom’s mother sported a navy blue gown. And We Danced DJ Entertainment had a fantastic time celebrating the marriage of Ashley Thomas and Brandon Taylor recently in Cassville, Pennsylvania. Brandon and Ashley tied the knot on the Thomas’ family farm. Dave Thomas was the officiant for the wedding ceremony.

The rain soaked soggy ground did not take away from the love and joy of the event. Family came from far and wide to celebrate the grand occasion. Brandon and other family members laid hay down to stop the sogginess of the grass interfering with the reception festivities. The hay was a lovely touch and created a floating atmosphere for dancing that night.

The bride and groom had a marvelous two-layer cake to cut and feed to each other. Brandon and Ashley were naughty and nice for the event. They feed each other a sliver of cake, and then Brandon added a touch of icing to Ashley’s face as the naughty part. Guests were given a choice of white, chocolate, lemon, apple spice or peanut butter cupcakes.

The newlyweds had a homestyle buffet for guests to enjoy. Beef, chicken, and pulled pork were the choice meats with chicken nuggets added for the youngsters. And We Danced DJ Entertainment provided the ceremony sound, reception music, lights and emceeing for the day’s events.

The new Mr. & Mrs. Brandon Taylor began the reception festivities dancing to Scotty McCreery’s This Is It. Ashley could always be seen dancing with her son Mason or family members that night. There was a little rivalry occurring later in the evening between relatives when one donned an Ohio State sweatshirt and another wore a Penn State sweatshirt while awaiting highlights of the Penn State-Ohio State football game.

Thank you Brandon and Ashley for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your marriage ceremony and reception. Good luck in your new life as husband and wife!

Brandon’s groomsmen wore light gray suits with pale blue vests.

Woodring’s Floral Gardens provided the beautiful pink and coral flower bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages for the day. Melanie and Brandon chose Dolce Vita Desserts’ chocolate cake with a hint of coffee as their wedding cake flavor along with lemon flavored white cupcakes. The frosting on the wedding cake depicted a stunning forest scene with coniferous trees and mountains. Paul’s Provisions furnished the luscious food for the event. Kimberly Wright of Kimberly Wright Photography was capturing those special moments between Melanie, Brandon, family and friends throughout the day and night.

Tyler Kleinle of TK Videography & Photography was constantly on the move securing the memorable moments of the day along with special wishes for Brandon and Melanie from friends and family members. Pennsylvania’s Special Olympians recently returned to State College for their annual Leadership Conference event at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. And We Danced DJ Entertainment spun some great dance music for the attendees for their Friday evening dance. Needing a change of pace from the conference meetings, everyone could not wait to hit the dance floor to begin dancing with their fellow athletes, families, coaches and Special Olympics management personnel.

Athletes and staff all danced and sang along to their favorite tunes that night. Everybody was on the dance floor having fun! Lights were flashing while the participants were moving to some great dance tracks. The floor remained packed with dancers for most of the evening. As with all of the Special Olympics events that we play at, attendees swayed and danced for the entire event.

The Special Olympics annual Leadership Conference strengthens the leadership abilities of many throughout the organization. Topics covered at the conference include new manager training, background information, competition, field department concerns, fundraising, volunteer issues, marketing, communications and athlete leadership. It is through this training that the Pennsylvania Special Olympics organization is able to provide quality events throughout the course of the calendar year. More than 2,000 athletes compete in the Pennsylvania Special Olympics annually. Some sports included are aquatics, basketball, bowling, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, softball and tennis. Local representatives can supply more information on how to take part in various Special Olympics events.

Before we knew it, the 10pm hour arrived and the dance concluded. All the athletes made sure to greet us before they left to get a good night’s sleep and resume their conference the next day.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment is honored to play great dance music for our Special Olympics friends throughout each year. We look forward to seeing you again!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment was 1,809 feet above sea level while providing sound, lights, emceeing and music for Katie Foytik and Kurtis Webb’s marriage and reception at Harrison’s Above the Valley Event Center in Centre Hall on August 11th. Katie wore a stunning off-white, sleeveless gown with a beaded bodice. Her sparkly, gold sequined tennis shoes were a marvelous pairing to her ensemble. Katie held a beautiful bouquet of light orange roses offset by a collection of white flowers.  Kurtis and his groomsmen wore black suits with white shirts.

Katie was escorted down the aisle by her father. Joshua Wallace of Milton, PA was the officiant for the ceremony. Katie was traditional for most of the ceremony, but she was untraditional for the recessional. She surprised her husband by having And We Danced DJ Entertainment play “Fly, Eagles, Fly” for the recessional, since Kurtis is a BIG fan of the Philadelphia Eagles . When he heard the beginning of the song, his jaw dropped, and he quickly turned to Katie with a stunned expression! Before leaving the room, he shouted E-A-G-L-E-S at the end of the song and left to take some stunning photos with the view at Above the Valley!

Kurtis and Katie met through a social app. Her theme for the wedding was gold, white and pink. Dolce Vita Desserts provided an enticing array of cupcake flavors for the event along with the beautiful white cake that Kurtis and Katie cut together to celebrate the day. Shannon Susi was the photographer for the Foytik-Webb marriage day.

While Kurtis and Katie were preparing to feed each other a piece of cake, the crowd was asked if the couple would be nice while feeding each other the piece of cake. Kurtis and Katie were not nice and had icing smeared on their faces. And We Danced asked if they would kiss, and Kurtis promptly made sure that Katie had more icing than he did while kissing!

Thank you Kurtis and Katie for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your marriage ceremony and reception. Good luck in your new life as husband and wife!
