And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the pleasure of celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Israel and Nancy Chapa at Above The Valley Special Event Center. Israel and Nancy’s two lovely children planned the event. Israel and Nancy renewed their vows and celebrated with a lovely buffet furnished by Harrison’s followed by the cutting of the cake and dancing. Many friends and family members were on hand to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Nicole Chapa, daughter of Israel and Nancy, gave a brief history of the meeting and growth of love between Israel and Nancy. Nancy is a former flight attendant. While on a layover in New York City, Nancy and a fellow flight attendant decided they were hungry for Mexican food. The Mexican Restaurant’s maitre’d was Israel. Nancy found Israel handsome, while Israel was captivated by Nancy’s beauty. The couple finally eloped, and Israel opened a Mexican Restaurant in Connecticut. Eventually the couple retired and moved to the Centre County region of Pennsylvania.

Israel and Nancy were serenaded with violin music from their grandson David Diaz. A special song was written and performed for the anniversary couple by Joel Waan. Joel played the ukulele while singing to the happy couple and their guests. Nicole and her boyfriend, Vinny “Vungh” Waan, choreographed a lovely Bachata dance to Lola Jane’s “Kiss Me.” Nicole and Vinny were awesome Latin dancers. Later, they continued to wow the guests with their Latin moves.

Since the anniversary couple eloped the first time, their children wanted to celebrate this golden anniversary in a grander way with And We Danced DJ Entertainment. Nancy and Israel opened up the dance floor with “Country Bumpkin” by Cal Smith. Following the opening dance, And We Danced DJ Entertainment continued to play the music the happy couple enjoyed. Country, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Pop were the featured dance genres for the guests’ dancing enjoyment.

Thank you Israel and Nancy for choosing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your Golden Wedding Anniversary festivities. Enjoy all the sweet memories you two garnered in your fifty years together!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment proudly provided the music to help the runners, walkers and joggers as they participated in the 11th Annual Dog Jog supporting Pets Come First. The Annual Dog Jog takes place on the Grange Fairgrounds each year. All manners of pooches led their masters around the agility training field, the various vendors and food establishments.

Walkers and runners could walk without their four legged friends, but many took their animals with them for a nice long walk. Many people took advantage of the microchip clinic and silent auction taking place inside the Grange Fair facilities. Awards were dispensed, and dogs were also awarded pet toys or collars for taking part in the Annual Dog Jog. A demonstration also ensued showing how law enforcement uses dogs to catch criminals.

Pets Come First was established in 2005. It is a non-profit and non-euthanasia organization. They place stray and unwanted animals into loving homes. A dedicated staff and volunteers care for the daily needs of each animal in the shelter. Pets Come First is not funded by the government. Instead, they rely upon adoption fees, fundraisers, and donations to support the daily requirements of running the shelter and caring for the animals. The Pets Come First shelter is located off of the General Potter Highway in Centre Hall. They are open Thursday thru Sunday. Check their website for their email, phone number and hours of operation.

Pets Come First is always looking for potential adopters. The facility holds dogs, cats and some other animals. Before adopting a pet, Pets Come First asks the adopters to fill out an adoption application. This form helps the facility to determine the right fit for their four legged friends. If the adopter is unable to keep the animals, Pets Comes First requires the pet to be returned to their facility.

Thanks Pets Come First for allowing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be part of the 2019 Annual Dog Jog!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment had the time of their lives celebrating with Elese Merkovsky and Michael Tressa in the Aspen Room at Toftrees Resort. Their reception followed their wedding nuptials at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Penn State’s main campus which was performed by the bride’s uncle, Reverend Paul Merkovsky. Elese wore a stunning sleeveless, lace gown while Mike sported a blue suit and maroon flowered tie. The bridesmaids were arrayed in navy blue, sleeveless gowns, and the groomsmen were attired in gray suits, light blue shirts, and dark ties.

McCarthy Flowers created sensational flower arrangements that were displayed in the Aspen Room alongside the lovely bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages held or worn by family and friends. The bride and groom cut a charming wedding cake created by the bride’s aunt. Elese and Mike had a magnificent display of candy and cookies for friends and family to box and take home in celebration of their wedding nuptials. Toftrees’ Katie Clegg along with her staff were absolutely fabulous mixing and pouring drinks, creating fabulous displays of hors d’oeuvres and later sliders, and serving the scrumptious meal entrees to guests.

And We Danced DJ Entertainment kept the guests dancing and having fun the entire night. After introductions, Elese and Mike performed their first dance to Francis & The Lights featuring Chance The Rapper’s “May I Have This Dance.” While dancing in front of the big windows in the Aspen Room, the bride and groom showed off their exciting dance moves. The bride then danced with her father to Rascal Flatts’ “My Wish.” Next, Mike took the stage with his mother dancing to “When I Look At the Sky” by Train. Mike has an incredible sense of humor, and it showed while cutting the rug with his mom. Later, Elese, Mike, family and friends laughed, sang, shouted, and had an incredible night dancing to the sounds of And We Danced DJ Entertainment. The last song of the night truly expressed the feelings of the happy couple, (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.

Mike and Elese met in State College while working for a local television station. They began dating a few months later. The couple moved to Chicago and continued their romance. Mike proposed to Elese at her favorite vacation destination, the Outer Banks in North Carolina. After celebrating, they decided that the best place to hold their wedding ceremony and reception would be in the town that they first met each other, State College, Pennsylvania. Now, their new adventure as man and wife begins.

Thank you Mike and Elese for choosing And We Danced DJ Entertainment to be a part of your wedding day festivities. Good luck in your new life as husband and wife!
